Locations are generally used to show the aisle number of the items, and/or as a sub-category such as "Produce", "Frozen Foods", "Bakery", etc.  You can also sort by item location, which helps you make a single pass through a given store without backtracking.  A different location is stored for each category, so an item in "Grocery" may be in a different location than it is in "Hardware".  For example:
  1. Select the "Grocery" category.
  2. Create an item called "Apples" and click on the "Loc" column for that item
  3. The pop-up menu contains the numbers 01-09, "Name", and "..." (more).
  4. Select "Name" to specify a location by name
  5. Since "Produce" isn't on the list, select "..." for more choices.
  6. Type in the name of the location (Produce) and tap the "Add" button
  7. From now on, "Produce" will appear on the "Name" pop-up menu (for all items)
  8. Select "Produce" as the location for Apples. You will now see the first two letters of the location in the "LOC" column (PR).
  9. As your shop, when you buy an item that doesn't have a location set, take a moment to set the aisle number or name of the location for each item.
  10. The NEXT time you build your list, the locations will be remembered from the previous session. Tap on the header text for the "LOC" column (actually click on the word "LOC") and it will become the sort column. Items for each aisle or named location will be grouped together, allowing you to more efficiently move through the store without having to go back and forth.

You can also sort by price and coupon by tapping on their header text. Tapping again will reverse the sort order.
